Access: Car advised.

However there are various official looking websites charging as much as $250 for the forms - please avoid them.

The free service is only available at http://esta.cbp.dhs.gov though the website www.visitusa.org.uk/visitors/esta.aspx gives more information and has a link to the correct page at esta (nb stands for Electronic System for Travel Authorization). This online form needs to be submitted at least 72 hours before travel.
