The Lindfields sub-division
Useful information about the immediate
area surrounding MyLindfieldsVilla.
The Lindfields sub-division (or estate as
the British would say) is one of the most established
developments in the Kissimmee/Orlando area. It was one of the
first to be built for the benefit of visitors to Disney World
and has much appeal to the British, many of whom have moved to
live permanently in Lindfields. Lindfields is a quiet tranquil
area with a mix of residential and vacation homes within a
conservation area where the wildlife includes cranes, eagles,
armadillos and raccoons.
This was the first development in the area,
built during the early 1990s. With lower land prices than
today, the developers were more generous with the plot sizes
and also with wide avenues and traditional street lighting. The
properties are detached villas creating an unique atmosphere.
The homes in Lindfields combine a distinct blend of spacious
and luxury pool homes that have a British/Floridian theme. The
street names could almost make the area British - such as
Bloomsbury, Kensington, Dickens and Wellington with some
Americanisations such as Knottingham and Picadilly Circle -
apart from, of course, the climate and palm trees.
Lindfields has now established itself as the
location for some of Kissimmee's best maintained and most
attractive homes. This spacious development of three
neighbourhoods has matured nicely to become a most desirable
location. The surrounding conservation areas preserve it's
exclusivity, but is only four miles west of Disney World and
close to the commerce developing on US 192 and with Wal-Mart,
Walgreens and Publix within easy reach. The arera of West
Kissimmee has become a centre of new neighbourhoods, shops,
supermarkets and excellent restaurants catering for all tastes
and budgets. With three golf and country clubs, fishing (on
Bass Lake and Lake Toho) and of course the proximity to the
major theme parks, Lindfields really is the place to stay.
